Ercol stacking chair (model no. 392) . Ercol 2007 website says 'This 1957 chair was cleverly designed to stack vertically. The original was widely used by meeting rooms and schools, before the dawn of the ubiquitous polypropylene chair.' Advert in 'The Cabinet Maker' 16 Aug 1957 says 'for the first time anywhere I introduce the Windsor stacking chair.' and shows the Erco Lion pushing a stack of 12 chairs on rolling 'bogie' rails which could be purchased as an optional extra.
