Page 4 of G-Plan furniture catalogue ca. 1956 showing split level living/dining room. Illustrates club type sofa and chair (model no. 112CX & 112SX) with sloping arm easy chair (model no. 414CX) and tables with malachite-green finish tops on black lacquer and brasss bases (cocktail table 890X & lamp table 888X). The dining area includes sideboard T887Q , drop-leaf table T836Q and chair T634Q all in tola with black.

This photograph was also used for advertising and appeared in a G-Plan advert in The Evening Standard on 18.05.1956. The mixture of walnut coloured timber (tola) with black and brass was said to be Italian influenced and the picture picks up on the theme using Fornasetti designed lamps. Date derived from the fact that catalogue includes items made in tola and black, introduced for 1956, but not 'chinese white' introduced in the latter part of that year.
