During trading difficulties in the early 1960s it was decided exceptionally to take a stand at the annual Furniture Show at Earl's Court, London. Marketing Director Dean came up with the idea of a fantasy island complete with girls in grasss skirts. Derek Cope designed the stand which was made of huge baulks of timber veneered in teak. (This information is based on conversations with Les Dandy and Hew Reid - August 2007).
