Sepia group photograph of staff and senior students at Wycombe Junior Technical Institute. 1923. Arthur Gardham, Principal of the school, is 7th from left in 2nd row, 8th is Shaw Wilson who taught carving, 9th is W.J. (Sticky) Stamps who had been headmaster of the School of Art that preceeded the Technical Institute. Edward Sweetland photographer's stamp is on the mount and his sticker on the reverse with No. 0'8343 in pencil. |
Notes: | The Junior Day Technical School in High Wycombe opened in September 1920. By July 1922 when the first Speech and Sports Day was held 110 boys were attending. This photograph was presumably taken at or around the second Speech Day in July 1923. |
