The Scandinavian style was popular during the early1960s, however, Leslie Dandy mentions in his written notes 'Danish design was launched in 62 and much welcomed by the trade, but the scale was wrong for our living rooms and especially our bedrooms, so we were called on to do an Anglicizing opertaion and get it right'. ref: HWFA Research Material, Sept 2007, Leslie Dandy notes ' A Designer's View.
