HWFA holds approx. 396 design drawings by Ib Kofod-Larsen, produced for G-Plan between 1961 - 1974; many of which incorporate rough amendment sketches and written notes. Very few of the designs were ever put into production. To date, our research has shown this was not a production piece. However, judging from the date of this drawing and in relation to drawings No. 41 (GBX08_03), No. 68 (GBX08_02) these designs may have been developed for sideboards (4020) and (4022) According to Leslie Dandy, IKL was contracted at £2000 a year, without royalties, to produce designs exclusively for G-Plan; with the Company retaining full copyright. Leslie Dandy also says, IKL's designs were not generally successful - being too expensive to produce and the style and proportions not suiting the British taste and home. ref: HWFA Research Material, Oliver Heal, 02.08.2007 'Notes of a Conversation with Leslie Dandy' unpublished.
